The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, an oasis of indulgence in comfort and sensibility, blessed by natural mineral hot springs, is set in the heart of the California Wine Country. The legendary spa, completely rebuilt with inspired architecture and plantings to accommodate the sophisticated traveler

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, a historic spa destination in the heart of the California Wine Country, has now completed a sweeping re-creation of its legendary spa. Completely rebuilt for the new Century, the spa's inspiring new architecture reveals pools, baths, and treatment areas unique in the West. It is a true spa, created in the grand European tradition and based on the benefits of the property's thermal mineral springs.

Ancient thermal mineral waters grace the site of The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, first revered by Native American Indians as sacred healing grounds, and later by settlers as a bathing ground. The springs gained popularity among San Franciscans in the 1840s, when a bathhouse emerged to shelter the restorative waters.

Today, The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is one of the only luxury Spa resorts in the country with its own source of thermal mineral water, which flows from 1,100 feet directly beneath the Inn at 135 degrees. The Spa pays homage to the Native Americans who first appreciated its healthful benefits, as well as to the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations that believed in the axiom "Sanitas per Aquas", or healing through water. The most comprehensive full service, co-ed adult spa in Northern California, The Spa offers an outdoor natural hot artesian mineral water pool, fitness studios, exercise classes featuring yoga, step, Pilates, NIA, and body sculpting. In addition, The Spa offers complimentary daily guided hikes through the beautiful Sonoma Valley.

The Spa offers one of the widest varieties of private services in the United States, from an array of massages, facials, wraps, and Salon services to one-on-one fitness training and personal consultation on nutrition and stress management. These services are performed by a staff of over 100 experienced, certified providers. The Spa Boutique and Market offers an excellent selection of swimwear and workout wear, as well as a complete line of body and beauty products.

"One of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the United States." - Architect Robert Muir Graves

Designed by Sam Whiting and Willie Watson, designers of the Olympic Club course in San Francisco, the Sonoma Golf Club originally opened in 1927 as part of the The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. Sold during the Great Depression of the 1930's. the course, now called Sonoma National, was re-purchased by The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in 2001, expanding the resort's offerings to guests.

This championship 18-hole course is nestled next to the Mayacamas Mountain range, less than one mile from the Inn. Consistently rated one of the top courses in the country, the course measures 7,087 yards. Its 177 acres are bordered by vineyards and complimented by mature native oaks, stands of eucalyptus and redwood, three lakes and a rushing creek. It is both challenging and enjoyable to play.

The fully stocked Pro Shop carries rental clubs including Titleist Irons and Taylormade woods. Guests may receive professional golf instruction utilizing the recently completed Practice Facility which includes a Driving Range with Target Greens, Chipping Greens, and Putting Greens.
